Thank you for the fantastic start to Panther Athletics 2026-27! It's game time.

Nearly all of our sports teams have a contest this next week. Reflecting on the work that has gone into this season, I am very excited for the athletes and coaches that have been putting in the work. 

New Announcements - 

• My office is working hard on establishing Eligibility for each of our athletes. This may mean picking up an alternative education / running start contract and/or gathering a little bit more information. If you receive an email or call from my new co-worker, Flor Gonzalez, please respond!
• Something to celebrate - Thank you to Haglunds Trophies for sponsoring "Panther Pod Athlete of the Week". Once we get up and running with our contests, we will be recognizing a male and female student-athlete each week. We will be recognizing them on the Podcast and thanks to Haglunds, a medal!

Reminders - 

• Today our second episode of the Wenatchee Panther Podcast is available. Proud of our coaches and athletes for sharing their perspectives and thoughts. Girls Soccer and Volleyball are on the show.
• Saturday August 29th - Fall Sports pictures / Fall Sports Kickoff
  • Join Panther Booster Club
  • 8:00am - grab a cup of coffee, doughnut and buy some swag / join Panther Booster club
  • 8:20am - optional freshman parent meeting in new commons
  • 9:00am - All parents, athlete, coaches in Main Gym 
  • 9:15ish - Sports breakouts
  • We expect all athletes and a parent to attend. If you can not, please work directly with your coach on a make up opportunity. Sorry to miss you.

Did you know ? 

During the 2025-26 school year, Wenatchee Athletics received a total of 9 ejections. Ejections occur when coaches, athletes or spectators behave in ways that go against the rules of the game or show poor sportsmanship. 

The WIAA allows a school to have 5. Due to our 9 ejections, I was required to create a sportsmanship plan for the 2026-27 school year. What does that mean?

• Any ejection for violent conduct, language, fighting, etc will result in a 2 game suspension (as well as missing the remainder of the game in which the ejection occured). 
• Any ejection will require a Sportsmanship Video required watching as well as a restorative meeting with myself.
